Back in 2007 when I was a K-1 school teacher in Niger, West Africa...my early morning routine before I walked to
the school to teach...was a meditation of empowering mother Africa to shine forth. I had a big paper cut out of the whole continent on my bedroom door and I would place my hands on my heart, gather my heartbeats then transfer my universal love to the whole energy of what Africa stands for...I felt so privileged to have been given that assignment for three years while teaching beautiful children to become kind leaders of a new world.
My love and inner knowing that one day Africa will rise in the world and amaze us has never left me...in my yoga and mindfulness circles with my young yogis this week I shared an old African story and we moved through the poses until we reached a moment of divine synchronicity...the mother in the story was willing to befriend a lion and endager her life for her son. As the children came
to a cobra pose together on the classroom
carpet, I saw their hands connecting as a collective lotus mudra right on the African continent ( and this was not planned)...and yet what I witnessed next was miraculous:
We all became petals of this LOTUS of our collective heart and we took time
to breathe love into ourselves and then into all of Africa. Memories of my time in Niger paraded before my mind's eyes... All past and present and future as ONE MOMENT of Deep Reverence to All Life Everywhere!
